Q & A: Front Wheel Tow
I had to take a job transfer to Milwaukee about 18 months ago and I took my 1969 MGB over on a frount wheel tow dollie. I have the engine out right now to install a new rear main seal, transmission seal and clutch assy and clean up the engine compartment. My question is I was reading a past MGB Driver and in your tech talk you said that would ruin the bearings because of lack of lubrication. I towed mine from Hudsonville to Racine how due i find out if I did any damage? I have the engine out now it would be easy to pull the transmission this way.
The only way to discover a problem is by driving the car. You probably haven't done any damage, but I know that some people, on especially long trips, have encountered problems. It's just that the laygear doesn't spin when the car is being towed... read more
