Q & A: Rear Seal Leak
On my 75 B, with a LH overdrive, I am leaking major oil from the rear OD seal right behind the driveshaft flange. I don't have the opportunity to remove the engine and tranny from the car. So, as you can guess, I'm contacting you with the question: " can I replace the rear OD oil seal with the overdrive in the car from under the car?" Some folks mention needing an impact wrench, which I also don't have..

It is very odd for the rear seal to leak. Make sure that's the source! You can purchase oil dye from NAPA and use a black light to cause the dye to fluoresce -- making the source of the leak unmistakable. You'll ha... read more
